Burly boy Jet, whose puppy name was Prince Hal, lived with his Belgian Lakenois pal Pilot in Hamilton, MT. Jet began his show career in California in mid-2016 & he finished early in 2019. While he was guided to his majors by Marrianne Lu, Jet was quite the "owner-handler" pair with Dori back in the early days of his campaign & this team amassed several OH BOBs & an OH Group II & III!
Jet also made a splash on the coursing field in 2018 & 2019, winning BOB for a major his first weekend out while he was vacationing in Alaska. He had three more placements in major entries, picked up his second major at the NCWFA event in May of 2019 & completed his DC in Oregon the following weekend!
Jet earned his Rally Novice {RN} title with three placements in March 2019! Jet also tried his paw at Barn Hunt earning his RATN and one leg for his RATO with two first placements. He capped off an incredible May 2019 with his BCAT! Jet has recently dipped his paw in the scentwork arena as a retirement activity and earned his first NASDA titles, TL1 & LI-1, in 2023! He earned his CD and RI at the age of nine & a half in one whirlwind weekend in April 2025! Jet completed his run of earning titles by qualifying for his AWC CAVX upon the completion of his CD.
Jet was a surprise racing contender. He was the recipient of five ARX points, with back-to-back Top Ten finishes & back-to-back High Combined in CWA racing his very first weekend out in late 2018! Jet continued his winning ways in early 2019, with two more ARX points & two more Top Ten placements at the spring RCRA events. Jet was the recipient of another ARX point & another High Combined at the June '19 NCWFA CWA race meet. He was more than half way to his ARX in only three weekends out before he hurt his toe & his family moved to MT where there is no racing & he was retired. During his career, Jet was a high B/low A & we were so tickled by the speed of this completely show bred guy. He earned his CWA PR before the toe injury & the move permanently scuttled his race career.
Jet was a wonderful dog who did everything Dori ever asked of him. He did not read the Whippet Handbook as he would sit anywhere, even in the snow! We will miss this wonderful ambassador for the Versatile Whippet.
