Ch. Milescross Shadow Of A Doubt, JC - "Bentley"
(Ch. Broadstrider's By George, ROMX X Locar's Creme De Cocao, JC)
4/6/1993 - 12/28/1997
Bred & Owned by Guin Borstel
My beloved Bentley was born into my hands after I rushed home from work to attend to Julia's first litter. We bonded from that moment, and it was obvious pretty early on that Bentley was never leaving my side. A wild and wonderful dog, B was taken from me in a tragic accident at the beach at only four years of age. How I loved this silly, happy, devoted whippet.
Bentley won Best of Breed at his very first show and he sailed to his title with some memorable wins, finishing under Katie Winters. Bentley was a handsome moderately sized dog, with a great zest for life. Even though he had an obvious, cosmetic fault; (he was missing some pigment around one eye) B was admired at the shows and he had many fans - known as 'the Bentley Boosters'. Dan & Bentley were quite a team and he was really able to bring out the natural showman in the B.

B was a fun dog, who loved to play with his sisters and mother and run on the beach. He was my velcro dog and followed me everywhere. One of my greatest regrets is that he never got to sire any little Bs and pass on his joie de vivre and gleeful bapping. I have been guilty of trying to replicate Bentley, with no success, in every litter I've bred since his passing. He was one of a kind, with a heart full of enough love for ten dogs.
After all these years, I still miss Bentley a lot and wished I had more time to spend with this most wonderful whippet.
